His knowledge expanded as he took on significant roles, such as directing commercial broking deals at Marriott Property Services. A significant accomplishment during this period was his handling of the landmark sale of the former BP Centre in Cape Town’s CBD, marking a pioneering foreign investment deal in the South African property market.
Tony has overseen portfolios worth billions throughout his career, from asset management roles at Old Mutual Properties to spearheading property finance ventures with BOE and Nedbank. His exposure to international markets, including eight months in Dubai, gave him invaluable insights into global commercial property markets.
In 2010, Tony founded Epping Property, leveraging his extensive experience and passion for industrial real estate to create a dedicated, client-focused business. John Hayward’s venture into industrial real estate is marked by various experiences that contributed to his success as a broker.
After obtaining a Sales Diploma from Cape Town Technikon and completing management training with Clicks, John moved to the UK. There, he refined his leadership skills in the hospitality industry with the Whitbread Group. After returning to South Africa, John managed prominent establishments like Quay 4 and The Ambassador Hotel in Bantry Bay.
John transitioned into the real estate industry, joining Rattle Walton in Hout Bay. He excelled in residential property sales, helping the independent firm dominate the market with over 50% of annual sales.
